Open Cellars of Nillumbik Wineries

Nillumbik is a collection of small country towns and hamlets just on the outskirts of Melbourne, heading towards Kinglake.
October is a spectacular time to visit the vineyards and wineries that are nestled among rolling hills overlooking some magnificent countryside. At this time of year, the hills are emerald green, there are spring lambs and calves on the surrounding farms, and the vines are starting to show early signs of ‘bud burst’ now that the warmer weather has arrived.
So come out to visit unique, small family-owned wineries each with an individual style, where the grapes are hand-picked and hand-crushed by family and friends in the traditional style, with wines developed on site. This is a chance to sample exquisite wines from the artisan wine-makers of the western Yarra Valley, at wineries not always open to the public. You’ll also find excellent food to complement the wine, as well as live music and artworks from local artists at some venues.
